Introduction

If, for whatever reason, a fixed air conditioning installation is not a possibility, a portable unit may be the answer with outputs ranging from 2 kw.  This is so simple to position and use – all that’s needed is an opening window or suspended ceiling – and you achieve instant cooling.

There are two basic formats to portable air conditioning; the first of which is often referred to as an “Air to Air” or “Monobloc”, and has an exhaust hose that vents through a window or up into a suspended ceiling. The alternative to this is a “Split System”- an indoor and outdoor unit joined by a flexible hose; the outdoor unit is suspended through an open window.
